Every hand, every life, one mission
A movement in the service of life
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) unites field teams, volunteers, and partner offices worldwide under a shared vision: to provide rapid, impartial medical care wherever it is needed. Guided by principles of medical ethics, independence, and urgency, MSF responds to crises, epidemics, and neglected populations with skill and compassion.
Its international structure ensures coordination across continents, fostering knowledge sharing, operational efficiency, and advocacy for people excluded from healthcare. From conflict zones to disaster-stricken regions, MSF delivers lifesaving care while respecting local contexts, empowering communities, and maintaining accountability to the people it serves.
Distinct voices, one lifeline
From their worldwide network, MSF translates compassion and clinical knowledge into lifesaving action.
MSF’s international movement is shaped by 28 independent associations, each rooted in its home country yet connected by a singular mission: delivering medical care where it is needed most. These associations govern themselves through elected boards and General Assemblies, balancing local insight with global coordination.
From Australia to South Asia, and from Switzerland to West and Central Africa, each association contributes expertise, resources, and advocacy to strengthen MSF’s humanitarian action. They work closely with field teams, supporting recruitment, fundraising, and awareness, while Operational Directorates guide emergency responses. Branch and satellite offices extend this support, ensuring that knowledge, logistics, and compassion flow seamlessly from communities to the most urgent crises worldwide.
